VAZATA Submits System Security Plan (SSP) for FedRAMP Certification and Engages Kratos SecureInfo as its 3PAO

Plano, Texas, August 19, 2013 – VAZATA, a full service cloud infrastructure, managed services and colocation provider, today announced the company has submitted its System Security Plan (SSP), a significant milestone towards Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) certification. Kratos SecureInfo, an accredited FedRAMP Third Party Assessment Organization (3PAO) will help ensure that VAZATA meets the rigorous government mandated security requirements as defined by FedRAMP.

David MacGrandle, Chief Operations Officer for VAZATA, said, “VAZATA was the first solution provider to receive an Authority to Operate (ATO) from the U.S. Federal Government as part of the Cloud First initiative. We currently meet FISMA compliance requirements and serve a long list of government agency customers. FedRAMP certification ensures that we demonstrate an ongoing and unwavering commitment to providing the most secure, efficient cloud solutions to our current and future government customers. We selected Kratos SecureInfo as our 3PAO of choice after thorough due diligence because of the depth of their expertise and longstanding credibility.”

Annie Williams, Vice President of Federal Sales for VAZATA, added, “The Federal sector continues to present ample opportunity for cloud services providers. The challenge lies in the interpretation and application of FedRAMP controls that aligns with the expectations of the Joint Authorization Board (JAB). We are leveraging a highly capable 3PAO as a means to accelerate this initiative and achieve FedRAMP certification so we can stay in a leading market position as a cloud solutions vendor to U.S. government customers.”

Mike Rohde, Senior Director, Civilian and Commercial Programs of the Kratos SecureInfo business group, said, “We are pleased to be working with a leading managed hosting and cloud computing service provider like VAZATA. Our goal is to help them meet the controls, processes, procedures and security requirements of FedRAMP so VAZATA can broaden the reach of their cloud solutions to more government agencies. Our extensive experience securing cloud environments puts us in an excellent position to support customers such as VAZATA.”
